About Me

Hi there! I'm a tech enthusiast, occasional wordsmith, and full-time humor aficionado with over 25 years of experience in technology (which is a nice way of saying I’ve been staring at glowing screens since they were boxy and beige). My journey started in tech support, where I mastered the art of asking, “Have you tried turning it off and on again?” before it was cool.

From there, I built basic web pages for support teams, which was basically me playing around with HTML and hoping for the best. That led me into the fascinating world of infrastructure, then into management, and eventually to my current role as Director of Cybersecurity for a large state government agency. Yes, I’m that person who tells you not to click on suspicious links and, no, your password shouldn’t be "password123."

But life isn’t all firewalls and phishing scams. When I’m not battling cyber threats, I’m an elected member of my town’s Planning Board and Traffic Safety Committee—a fancy way of saying I help make decisions about where the potholes should go. I’m also a board member for our local extended day program, ensuring kids have a safe, fun space before and after school (and no, I don’t ask them about their password security… yet).

One of my favorite skills is breaking down complex technical jargon into plain English. Whether it’s explaining cybersecurity concepts or convincing someone why they absolutely need to stop using "1234" as their phone PIN, I thrive on making the complicated feel simple and approachable.

When I’m not juggling tech and community commitments, you can find me indulging in coffee, sarcastic commentary, and the occasional dad joke. Welcome to my blog—where tech meets wit, and I promise to keep the jargon to a minimum!
